Hi my name is Kate Kilbirde,
Born and raised in the deep south, I studied for my teaching diploma and bachelor of education in Dunedin. Over my years in education, I have taught all ages (Yr 0 – 8) in many areas around New Zealand gaining experience in leading literacy, reading recovery, team leadership and have studied for a postgraduate certificate in digital technology.
I have also written for children’s television and have been an education officer in a national museum.
Training in multi sensory learning with Learning Matters has enabled me to re energise my thinking in what and where I believe the needs are in education.
It is rejuvenating to know that I am making a true difference to the learning and lives of children by helping them to reach their full potential.
I work in both Learning Matters offices situated in the Wakatipu region.
My family and I live in beautiful Arrowtown.
