My name is Rachel and I am a specialist educator at Learning Matters.
My qualifications and experience background is in Early Childhood Teaching. I have been engaged in various aspects of this, including centre management, for the past twenty-five years in four different countries. I also have trained in learning difficulties in New Zealand. I have experienced learning difficulties first hand with my now adult children, one with dyslexia and the other with dyscalculia.
My heart is to assist those with difficulties and their families to find pathways to success. My goal is not only to foster positive relationships between myself, students and families but also to build positive thoughts and self-esteem during the learning process. I believe anxiety and low self-esteem are great inhibitors to life-long learning, so reversing that is not only important but essential.
