We Partner With Schools to Turn Intent Into Action

Building sustainable change in literacy through practical, tailored consultancy support.

We work alongside schools to build both teacher knowledge and the systems that support a sustainable, schoolwide approach.

Our consultancy team of highly skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable facilitators and literacy coaches provides practical, tailored support to enable consistent, high-quality literacy instruction that makes a lasting difference for every learner.

Flexible Support for Every School

Whether your focus is implementing and embedding Structured Literacy, targeted and tailored intervention, explicit instruction, leadership development, or refining Tier 1–3 systems, we tailor our support to your context. Our approach draws on the science of learning and reflects what we know works—building capability across your team and ensuring every ākonga has access to high-quality instruction.

We offer flexible, evidence-based professional learning to support schools at any stage of their literacy journey.

How Could This Support Take Shape in Your School?

Full Consultancy Support

A long-term partnership to build lasting change. This model supports capacity building across your school—spelling, reading, writing, intervention, and system design for Years 0–8. It includes teacher-only days and termly in-school visits, scaled to your size and context. Ideal for schools starting out or ready to go deeper with sustainable implementation.

One-off Teacher-only Days

We offer standalone teacher-only days focused on spelling, reading, and writing. These are available to individual schools or cluster of schools and can be tailored to meet your current needs. Sessions can focus on building foundational knowledge and may include examples from the iDeaL Approach—or not if you prefer—depending on your school’s current tools and approach.

PLD Tailored for Your Setting

Every school’s focus is different. We can design PLD models to meet your goals—whether that’s refining your literacy block, improving Tier 1 instruction, supporting intervention, or strengthening leadership capability, and more. Support might include lesson modelling, observations, coaching, or a mix of all three.

Short-term or One-off Visits

Not every school needs a full consultancy package. Some may prefer short-term or one-off support. We can provide a consultant for just a few days to deliver targeted input—this might include modelling lessons, coaching staff, or supporting a particular aspect.

These could include:

  • One off in-school days with a consultant to model lessons, observe and coach (these would also include an afterschool staff meeting)

  • Remote coaching with a consultant

  • Staff meetings

  • Parent evenings

  • Leadership meetings and support

Our Consultancy Team

Our consultancy team is located throughout Aotearoa and can support your school in any location—whether in person or remotely. They work alongside school leaders, SENCOs, Literacy Leads, teachers, and teaching teams to co-construct a practical, evidence-based, and sustainable path forward.

With wide-ranging experience across teaching, leadership, neurodiversity, and literacy, our facilitators bring deep understanding and credibility. All are registered New Zealand teachers, Ministry-approved facilitators (Years 0–8), and trained in approaches such as LETRS (IDA), IMSLE (ADA), or LMIT (IDA).

They’ve served as Principals, Deputy Principals , SENCOs, Literacy Leads, Team Leaders, and classroom teachers—so they understand the realities of school life. Working in partnership with you, they help co-design next steps that reflect your context and lead to meaningful, lasting change. Our consultants are also committed to their own ongoing professional development, continually engaging with current research and evidence to best support teachers, schools, and students.

Support at Every Stage

Whether you’re building teacher capability, refining Tier 1 instruction, strengthening intervention, or developing schoolwide systems—our team is here to help. We meet you where you are and tailor support that’s grounded in evidence, aligned with the science of learning, and designed to real change and meaningful outcomes for students and teachers alike.
